Mission: The X-35A/B/C are prototypes for Lockheed Martins entry into the twenty-first centurys largest fighter program, the JSF competition. Production is dependent upon the outcome of the JSF downselect scheduled for 2001. A single Pratt & Whitney F119-SE611A (for CTOL) turbofan engine powers it.
