Mission: The X-38 is a conceptual demonstrator for a crew rescue vehicle (at one time referred to as the Assured Crew Return Vehicle) for the International Space Station. It uses the same basic lifting body configuration perfected by the Martin Marietta X-24A. It is unpowered.
