Mission: The X-43, also known as the Hyper-X program, has been designed and built to overcome one of the most difficult of the remaining aerospace research challengeshypersonic flight with air-breathing engines. It is designed to achieve speeds between Mach 7 and 10, accordingly. Propulsion is provided by a GASL, Inc., scramjet engine.
