21 October: Taxi Tests

Test pilot Tom Morgenfeld puts the JSF X-35A through final taxi tests at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Palmdale, California, in preparation for first flight. The Pratt & Whitney-powered aircraft executed taxi tests from low to medium speeds. All of the aircraft’s subsystems—avionics, hydraulics, vehicle-management displays, electrical systems, communications, and others—are operational during the taxi runs
