Terry Pyles is internationally known for his paintings of North American wildlife. He has had commissions from the Danbury Mint and from the National Wildlife Federation. (His work appears on the Visa card of the latter.) This painting depicts F-16 Fighting Falcons of the 18th Fighter Squadron of the 343rd Wing, the oldest air combat unit in Alaska, where Pyles lives. The 343rd is based at Eielson AFB, near Fairbanks.
