Jody Fulks Sjogren

Jody Fulks Sjogren’s interest in aviation and the natural world led to a series of metamorphic works for which she is best known. The prints depict transformations between winged creatures and aircraft. "Falconfyre," says Fulks Sjogren, "expresses that irresistible association between the peregrine, a flying creature placed here by God, and the F-16, a flying machine designed by the imagination and skill of men. Both birds are the epitome of their kind: powerful, majestic, combining the highest powers of speed and maneuverability with massive, warlike strength."
