William Wallick uses his Air Force experience with flight time in the P-40, P-47, P-51, and T-33 in his work. Wallick says he chose this particular setting for the F-16 to create a different background style and color contrast and to offset the aircraft colors. According to Wallick, the painting reminds him of low-level training missions during his career as a USAF instructor pilot.
