Wind tunnel tests conducted in the sixteen-foot transonic wind tunnel at the US Air Force Arnold Engineering Development Center, Arnold AFB, Tennessee, used one-fifteenth-scale models of the F-16 and the AIM-9X air-to-air missile to provide data for eventual flight test use at Eglin AFB, Florida. The data obtained from the test is required to support safe separation certification for carriage and release of the AIM-9X missile from the F-16.
