VISTA Trains Test Pilots

The US Air Force Test Pilot School used its NF-16D VISTA to help build electro-optical training for its students. During three curriculum development flights, VISTA was loaded with Maverick training missiles. Planned electro-optical sorties allow student test pilots, test navigators, and flight test engineers to observe— in flight— differences between using visible and infrared sensors for acquiring and attacking ground targets.
