F-16 Mass Formation

Cmdt. Rudy Schoukens, the Belgian F-16 MLU solo demo pilot, achieved his 3,000th F-16 flying hour on 13 December. Schoukens becomes the fourth BAF pilot to achieve this milestone. To celebrate the event, he was joined by fifteen of his colleagues in a sixteen-ship diamond formation. With a total of 26,183 F-16 flight hours among them, the flight sets a new record for combined flight hours in a single formation. The flying armada of F-16s included Schoukens, as the elder statesman, and one of the newest pilots at Florennes, 1st Lt. Van Rompaey, who has about 250 F-16 flight hours.
