Assignment: Iraq

Assignment: Iraq The first F-16 Fighting Falcon pilot from the 127th Wing at Selfridge ANGB, Michigan, arrived at his new base at Kirkuk AB, Iraq, on 1 March. F-16s are replacing A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft of the 354th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron from Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. The base at Kirkuk is now home to the first operational squadron of F-16s based in Iraq.
