Col. Michael McDonald of the 120th Fighter Wing of the Montana Air National Guard went over 4,000 F-16 hours on 31 March. He is only the fifth F-16 pilot to reach this milestone. McDonald, who serves as the vice wing commander, began flying the F-16 in 1980. His flight resume includes the Block 1, 5, 10, 15, 25, and 30 versions of the Fighting Falcon. He likely has the unofficial USAF record for F-16A/B model time with 3,490 hours.
