The 285th and last C-141 to come off the assembly line became the second-to-last StarLifter to be retired on 7 April. A crew from the 445th Airlift Wing, the last Air Force Reserve Command to operate the aircraft, flew serial number 67-0166 from Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, to Scott AFB, Illinois, where it will take its place among other Air Mobility Command aircraft at the heritage air park being built this year. For several years, this particular aircraft was based at Scott and served as the Military Airlift Command/Air Mobility Command commander’s aircraft. The 445th Airlift Wing is converting from the StarLifter to the C-5 Galaxy.
