Operation Mountain Lion

Operation Mountain Lion Coalition and Afghan forces launched Operation Mountain Lion on 12 April, one of the largest military operations in Afghanistan since the overthrow of the Taliban in 2002. The C-130 crews from 774th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron at Bagram AB, Afghanistan, provided tactical airlift, delivering thousands of pounds of food, water, and ammunition for coalition combat operations. The squadron flew two missions on 25 April, dropping twelve pallets of supplies to ground forces in drop zones on the side and crest of a steep mountain. The squadron airdropped 24,000 pounds of supplies in March to three forward operating bases near the Pakistan border during normal operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
