Capts. Dan and Sarah Santoro, both C-130 pilots with the 37th Airlift Squadron at Ramstein AB, Germany, are both currently deployed to Southwest Asia. Since they started flying operationally in 2003, the couple has spent nearly 1,100 days deployed supporting the war on terrorism. Although all their deployments have been together, they live in separate tents or buildings when down range. They do get to enjoy occasional walks together to catch up on each other’s lives when they are not flying or when they are not in crew rest. The couple met at the Air Force Academy and wed in October 2001. They spent ten months deployed that first year. The Santoros have earned twelve Air Medals between them.
