Geronimo For The Last Time

Geronimo For The Last Time Army Pvt. Jason Stewart now holds a unique distinction. He is the last paratrooper to ever jump out of a C-141 StarLifter. Stewart, eighteen, was the last to jump from the last flight of the day during a training session on 13 May at Fort Benning, Georgia. Providing the jump platform for the historic event was a C-141C (serial number 65-0229) based at March ARB, California, with more than 41,860 flying hours. The C-141 was the first jet transport from which US Army paratroopers jumped. The StarLifter can hold 155 paratroopers, but the remaining C-141 units will no longer train for paradrops. The StarLifter is scheduled for retirement in 2006.
