F119 Engine Completes Milestone

Raptor’s P&W F119 engine successfully completed one-half of 4,330 total accumulated cycle tests to meet a major initial service release test milestone for the Defense Acquisition Board. One cycle test is a measure that takes the jet engine from one power setting to another and then back to the original setting. The tests, which were completed last October, were administrated by a USAF and P&W team at Arnold Engineering Development Center at Arnold AFB in Tennessee.
