F-16s For Greece

The government of Greece signed a letter of offer and acceptance with the US government last September to buy ten more F-16 Block 52+ aircraft for the Hellenic Air Force. The aircraft, six single-seat models and four two-seat models, were offered as an option to the fifty aircraft ordered by Greece in June 2000 under the Peace Xenia III FMS program. Deliveries begin in fall 2003 and complete in spring 2004. “The advanced Block 52+ F-16 represents the leading edge of the Hellenic Air Force and continues to be the cornerstone of Greece’s defense modernization program,” said Mr. George Koliris, general director of the Greece Directorate for Armaments.
