A November ceremony in Fort Worth commemorated 500,000 instructor hours of training on the F-16, which includes instruction to all F-16 operators worldwide and the US Air Force and Navy. The Lockheed Martin Customer Support Training Center has provided instruction since 1977. The milestone occurred during training of Egyptian students in the F-16 Peace Vector VI program.
Bill Anderson, vice president of Customer Support for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, termed the 500,000-hour achievement a major milestone that further reflects the LM Aero commitment to customer support. Customer training is a piece of the bigger picture and every bit as important as delivering 4,000 aircraft, he said, referring to the coincidence that both F-16 milestones of aircraft delivery (in April 2000) and instructor hours occurred with Egypt.
