Four MLU F-16s from 10 Wing at Kleine Brogel AB, Belgium, deployed to Landivisiau Naval Air Station in Bretagne, France, last October for dissimilar air combat training against Dassault Rafale F1s from 12 Flotille. The training, a first between the F-16s and the Rafales, began with four F-16s versus two Rafales in a beyond visual range scenario and ended with two F-16s versus one Rafale in a visual scenario. The two F1s, the first of 220 aircraft ordered by France, are primarily used as carrier-based air defense on the Charles de Gaulle. |
