Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. John P. Jumper joined the ranks of Raptor pilots in January, as he made his final qualification flight in the F/A-22 Raptor, after two weeks of training at Tyndall AFB, Florida. To qualify, the general, the highest-ranking Air Force officer ever to fly the F/A-22, completed more than fifty hours in aircraft systems and avionics academics, five simulator sessions, and three Raptor flights. The general said he wanted to experience the Raptor's capabilities firsthand and better understand how to employ it.
