Five factory-fresh F/A-22 Raptors were recently flown to Tyndall AFB, Florida, from the Lockheed Martin plant in Marietta, Georgia, on the same day. With the 7 January arrival, Tyndall has eighteen F/A 22s assigned to the 43rd Fighter Squadron, which is charged with training US Air Force Raptor pilots. A total of fifteen Raptors were contractually delivered in 2004, six more than in 2003. The first 2005 delivery — aircraft number thirty-seven — was contractually delivered on 26 January. Twenty-two Raptors are scheduled for delivery in 2005.
