Lockheed Martin received an $87 million contract last fall to support upgrades to seventeen F-16s transferred to the Royal Jordanian Air Force. The main upgrade is the F-16A Mid-Life Update along with the Falcon UP and Falcon STAR structural upgrades. The seventeen aircraft to be modified are US Block 15 F-16s with the Air Defense Fighter modification provided to Jordan under the Peace Falcon II foreign military sales program. These aircraft are in addition to sixteen F-16s received by Jordan in 1997 in the Peace Falcon I program. All aircraft will be modified between mid-2006 and mid-2009 at Turkish Aerospace Industries facilities in Ankara, Turkey, and in Jordan.
