The US Air Force selected the Lockheed Martin facility in Greenville, South Carolina, to modify a C-130J into the Super J configuration for the 193rd Special Operations Wing, a Pennsylvania Air National Guard unit in Harrisburg. The contract contains options for two additional aircraft. The Super J modifications are necessary for the future conversion of the aircraft to an EC-130J Commando Solo psychological warfare operations aircraft. Lockheed Martin will install aerial refueling equipment, a modified operator station, an expanded internal communication system, plus a more powerful electric generator. The aircraft will be delivered to the 193rd in the fall of 2006.
