An MC-130P Combat Shadow from the 5th Special Operations Squadron, an Air Force Reserve Command unit based at Eglin AFB, Florida, passes over ships performing maneuvers during the Atlantic phase of Unitas 2004, the largest and longest-running naval exercise in the Americas. Naval forces from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Spain, and the United States participated in the exercise, which was held off the coast of Uruguay in November. This is the first time in the forty-six-year history of the exercise that Air Force Combat Shadow tanker crews have taken part. The MC-130Ps were used on surveillance and search and rescue missions.
