F-22 Rated Mission Capable

F-22 Rated Mission Capable The Air Force completed follow-on test and evaluation, or FOT&E, for the F-22 in early January resulting in the Raptor being pronounced mission capable, one of the highest ratings achievable. FOT&E was conducted by the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, and took place primarily at Nellis AFB, Nevada. The evaluation tested the capability of Raptor pilots to employ the GBU-32 Joint Direct Attack Munition. The results indicated the F-22 showed improved sustainment performance compared to that observed during initial operational test and evaluation at Edwards AFB, California, in 2003 and 2004. The F-22 was rated "overwhelmingly effective" in its air-to-air performance during IOT&E.
