The first two F-16s for the Chilean Air Force were delivered from Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas, on 24 January. Under the Peace Puma program, Chile will receive a total of ten Advanced Block 50/52 aircraft six single-seat F-16C and four tandem-seat F-16D aircraft. The remaining eight aircraft are scheduled to be delivered through November. The program also provides maintenance support and munitions to include Joint Direct Attack Munition kits and AIM-9 heat-seeking and AIM-120 radar-guided missiles. The US Air Force will conduct F-16 flight training with Chilean instructor pilots. The Air Force and Lockheed Martin will provide maintenance training.
