A C-130H crew from the 3rd Wing at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, flew Baby Noor, an infant born with spina bifida who was given only one month to live, to an undisclosed base in Southwest Asia on 30 December, the first leg of a journey to the US for medical treatment. Last fall, Noor's grandmother brought the infant to a group of Georgia Army National Guardsmen conducting operations in a Baghdad neighborhood and asked for their help. The guardsmen contacted their congressional representatives and formed an elaborate coalition of humanitarian assistance to get the child to the US to receive treatment. After several operations, Baby Noor is doing well.
