F-22 Wins Collier Trophy

F-22 Wins Collier Trophy The National Aeronautic Association named the F-22 Raptor aircraft team as the 2006 recipient of the Robert J. Collier Trophy. The team's nomination package focused on the Raptor's performance in the demanding large-scale Northern Edge joint exercise held July 2006. The NAA is the oldest national aviation organization in the United States. The Collier Trophy, considered America's most prestigious award for aeronautical and space development, was established in 1911 and is awarded each year for "the greatest achievement in aeronautics or astronautics in America." Raptor Team members include the Air Force, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Pratt & Whitney, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, BAE Systems, and some 1,000 suppliers in forty-two states.
