Falcon Era Ends In North Dakota

Falcon Era Ends In North Dakota An era of F-16 operation came to a close on 16 January as Col. Robert Becklund, commander of the 119th Fighter Wing at Fargo, North Dakota, flew the unit's last F-16 to the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona. The final flight, a send-off of the aircraft, was part of the sixtieth anniversary celebration of the Air National Guard in North Dakota. The 119th FW is transitioning from the F-16 to operating the C-21 support aircraft and the MQ-1 Predator unmanned aerial vehicle. The long-time fighter unit, known as the Happy Hooligans, converted to the F-16 in 1990.
