Langley Raptor Fleet Complete

Langley Raptor Fleet Complete The 1st Fighter Wing at Langley AFB, Virginia, received its fortieth and last assigned F-22A Raptor on 19 January. Brig. Gen. Burt Field, the 1st FW commander, flew the wing's final jet (serial number 05-4085) from Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Georgia, to Langley. The first Raptor was delivered to Langley in 2005. Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, is the second base scheduled to receive operational F-22s. Elmendorf's 3rd Wing's 90th Fighter Squadron has set up a detachment at Langley to ease transitioning to the Raptor. Operations for the 90th FS are scheduled to begin in Alaska this August.
