Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Italy, and Turkey joined in the current System Development and Demonstration phase of the Joint Strike Fighter in separate agreements signed in the spring and summer. As participants in the decade-long development phase, these countries have the opportunity to influence the aircrafts design and capabilities and to supply parts and systems. They join the United Kingdom and Canada, which signed on as participating countries in January and February. Lockheed Martin plans to produce the JSF for the armed forces of those nations, as well as for the US Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps. |
