USAF delivered the first of sixteen refurbished F-16s to the Royal Thai Air Force in ceremonies at Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill AFB, Utah, on 4 June. The aircraft were originally built for the USAF by Lockheed Martin, which provided the upgrade kits for refurbishment. Lockheed Martin will also provide logistics support and maintenance training. Accepting the aircraft was Air Chief Marshal Thares Punsri, Chief of the Air Staff for the RTAF. Punsri expressed his appreciation to the Air Force and to the F-16 industrial team led by Lockheed Martin for the professional execution of the Peace Naresuan IV program. Capt. Scott Shepard, the 12th Air Force demonstration pilot, presented a memento to Punsri after his team flew a flight demonstration for the Thai delegation. |
