Raptor Flies Latest Avionics

The F-22 program marked a milestone in April when the newest version of the program’s advanced integrated avionics software package, Block 3.1, was successfully flown for the first time at the F-22 Combined Test Force at Edwards AFB, California. The 2.7-hour first flight of Block 3.1 occurred on Raptor 4006. The Block 3.1 software supplies more than ninety percent of the total functionality planned for the F-22’s integrated avionics, including increased radar, electronic warfare and communication, navigation and identification, as well as an additional GPS capability.
