10,000 Hours Times Three

Three Turkish Air Force aircrew members were recently honored for reaching the 10,000-flight-hour mark in C-130s. In the group picture, the trio of CMSgt. Emin Anasoy, CMSgt. Ferruh Zincirci, and CMSgt. Nevvat Oncul is shown with 222nd Squadron commanding officer Maj. Ugur Celik (second from right), a C-130 pilot with 5,000 hours himself. The presentation ceremony was held on the flight line in front of the red-and-white C-130 that is the dedicated transport aircraft for Turkey’s air demonstration team, the Turkish Stars, which flies F-5 aircraft. The Turkish Air Force has been flying C-130 aircraft for the past thirty-nine years. From its base at Kayseri, Turkey, the 222nd Squadron operates seven C-130Es and six C-130Bs.
