Algerian Earthquake Relief
|
|
Air Force C-130 crews delivered more than seven tons of relief supplies on 31 May to Algiers, Algeria, after a 6.8-magnitude earthquake shook the coastal capital city on 21 May. Six more tons of relief supplies were flown in on 5 June. Among the relief supplies flown in were medical kits, blankets, sleeping bags, cots, tents, and portable kitchens that can feed more than 3,000 people per day. The supplies were delivered by crews from Air Force Reserve Commands 910th AW, which normally fly out of Youngstown ARS, Vienna, Ohio, but were on temporary duty at Ramstein AB, Germany, to support operations throughout the commands area of responsibility. |
