Airmen from the 817th Contingency Response Group at McGuire AFB, New Jersey, guide a pallet onto a C-130J Super Hercules from the 135th Wing, the Baltimore-based Maryland Air National Guard unit, during the Vigilant Guard exercise held in Puerto Rico in March. The exercise involved more than seventeen Air Force, Air National Guard, and local and federal government agencies. It focused on providing a coordinated response following a simulated natural disaster in Puerto Rico. During the exercise, a hub-and-spoke operation was used to move passengers and cargo to four locations around the island.
