JSF Engine In Afterburner

The Lockheed Martin X-35A JSF team validated performance predictions of the Pratt & Whitney JSF F119-611 engine in final preparations for first flight. Test pilot Tom Morgenfeld executed dynamic accelerations and decelerations, military power (maximum non-afterburner power), and full power (with afterburner) settings while the team verified that electrical, hydraulic, and avionics subsystems as well as all other subsystems performed properly under engine-powered operations. The testing took place at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Palmdale, California.
