Baldwin Wins 2000 Semper Viper Award

Congratulations to Lt. Col. Scott Baldwin, the winner of the 2000 Joe Bill Dryden Semper Viper award for airmanship. Baldwin, the director of operations for the Vermont Air National Guard, distinguished himself in his handling of a throttle-control failure in an F-16C following a night vision goggle upgrade mission. The superior airmanship, flawless execution, and shear bravery shown by Baldwin directly accounted for the safe recovery of a combat coded aircraft and the prevention of danger to civilians. See a complete description of his aircraft-saving flight.
