First CCIP Kits Delivered

Lockheed Martin shipped the first eight modification kits for USAF’s Common Configuration Implementation Program, or CCIP, to Ogden Air Logistics Center, Utah, in June. The kits, part of an extensive F-16 retrofit, contain the Modular Mission Computer and color cockpit features for the Block 50/52 version. The first CCIP aircraft is scheduled to be completed January 2002. Next March, the Block 50/52 kits will add the combined electronic interrogator/transponder to give the F-16 an autonomous beyond-visual-range air-intercept capability. These aircraft will also be capable of alternately carrying the advanced FLIR targeting pod and the High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missile Targeting System pod. The first aircraft with this capability will be delivered in September 2002.
