DC F-16s Deploy To Argentina

Members of the 113th Wing of the District of Columbia ANG deployed several F-16s to Argentina last spring to train with the Argentina Air Force at Villa Reynolds AB. A multitude of aircraft deployed to Argentina from across the globe for the exercise, called Southern Falcon. The aircraft flown in Southern Falcon included the C-38 Astra, C-141, C-130, C-5, KC-135 tanker for air refueling, and eight F-16s from the 113th’s 121st FS. The main purpose of the exercise was to practice tactical training maneuvers between Argentina’s A-4AR and Mirage 3 and 5 aircraft, and USAF F-16 Fighting Falcons. Argentina recently became a non-NATO ally as a close partner supporting peace-keeping missions. The country also plays an important role in the security of the Western Hemisphere.
