Raptor 4002 was flown on four missions in one day on 26 June. The missions were relatively short to gather takeoff performance test points. F/A-22 Combined Test Force at Edwards AFB, California, conducted the first four-ship flight test of the IntraFlight Data Link on 29 August. The IFDL is a low-probability-of-intercept transmitter that allows Raptor pilots to automatically share information with flight members without using radio communications. Raptors 05, 06, 07, and 08 participated in the three-hour flight. Raptors 02, 03, and 09 were also up that day, marking the first time that seven F/A-22s were in the air at the same time. |
