Maj. John Blågreen and Paul Nielsen first came to the Lockheed Martin facility in Marietta, Georgia, in 1975 as enlisted mechanics training to become crew chiefs on the Royal Danish Air Forces first C-130Hs. This fall, that same duo is part of the team in Marietta to complete the acceptance process for the RDAFs new C-130Js. After Denmark-specific modifications are incorporated into the three aircraft on order, the C-130Js will be delivered next spring to 721 Transport Squadron at Værløse, the RDAF base near Copenhagen. Blågreen noted that the Marietta area had changed considerably since his first trip twenty-eight years ago. The only landmark he recognized was the local K-Mart. |
