Earthquake Relief Times Two

Earthquake Relief Times Two A C-130E crew from the 36th Airlift Squadron at Yokota AB, Japan, flew J. Thomas Schieffer, US Ambassador to Japan, and Lt. Gen. Bruce Wright, US Forces Japan commander, to Niigata Prefecture on 18 July to deliver 10,000 pounds of water and 100 air conditioning units for victims housed in public facilities following an earthquake that occurred in the area on 16 July.

Earthquake Relief Times TwoTwo days after a massive earthquake struck Peru on 15 August, a crew from the 135th Airlift Group, the Air National Guard unit in Baltimore, Maryland, was diverted from a supply run in Puerto Rico to Lima to support the relief effort there. The Baltimore C-130J crew flew in a mobile surgical team on its first mission in Peru.
