An AP-3C Orion crew performs a fly past over the Torrens Parade Ground in Adelaide, South Australia, on 23 March 2013 to commemorate the conclusion of Royal Australian Air Force operations in the Middle East. More than 700 personnel stationed at RAAF Edinburgh outside Adelaide based marched through the center of the city while thousands of citizens watched. 92 Wing crews, personnel, and support staff were deployed for nearly a decade as part of Operations Falconer (invasion of Iraq), Slipper (post-war Iraq), and Catalyst (Afghanistan). The Orion crews conducted overland intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance tasks in Iraq and Afghanistan; flew maritime patrols of the Arabian Gulf and North Arabian Sea; and counter piracy missions near Somalia.
