F-35C CF-2 was flown over the Andrews Joint Services Open House airshow on 21 May 2011. This marked the first public display of the Lightning II. US Navy Lt. Cdr. Eric Buus was the pilot on this seventh test flight of the aircraft—and the first flight that originated from NAS Patuxent River, Maryland, after delivery. At the conclusion of the flyby, the regularly scheduled test mission continued as planned. Seen below on static display is a U-2 from Beale AFB, California, and a C-5M Super Galaxy from Dover AFB, Delaware.
