US Air Force C-130J crews from the 37th Airlift Squadron and Airmen from the 435th Contingency Response Group, both at Ramstein AB, Germany, conducted a flying training deployment with the Israeli Air Force's 103 Squadron from 27 January through 8 February 2013 at Nevatim AFB, Israel. The bilateral training advanced the ability of American and Israeli air and ground crews to perform together in combat operations. With minimal restrictions on altitude and airspace, 37th AS pilots were able to meet numerous training requirements. The last time the two units trained together was more than five years ago, before the 37th AS transitioned from the C-130E/H to the C-130J. The IAF is scheduled to begin a similar transition in the second half of 2013.
