The nineteenth of twenty-eight C-130J Super Hercules transports scheduled for delivery to the 317th Airlift Group at Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas, was delivered on 3 May 2012. Maj. Gen. Scott M. Hanson, who serves as both commander of the Carl A. Spaatz Center for Officer Education and commandant of the Air War College at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, accepted delivery of the aircraft (Air Force serial number 08-5692) and was the pilot for the flight. The C-130Js at Dyess are flown by crews from the 39th and 40th Airlift Squadrons.
