Turkish Attacks Against ISIL

The Turkish Prime Minister’s office confirmed that three Turkish Air Force F-16 fighter pilots targeted two Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL (also referred to DEASH by some countries), command posts and an assembly point in Syria on 24 July 2015. These were the first missions flown by Turkey against the terrorist group. The aircraft were flown from Diyarbakir AB in eastern Turkey. Also on 24 July, the Turkish Council of Ministers, granted clearance for the deployment of manned and unmanned aircraft from the US and other Coalition members participating in air operations against DEASH, including a number of regional countries subject to Turkish approval.
