Red Flag-Alaska

A pair of US Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon multirole fighters taxi and take off from Eielson AFB, Alaska, during the latest Red Flag-Alaska exercise on 11 July 2011. The airborne aircraft is assigned to the 18th Aggressor Squadron at Eielson and serves as the adversary aircraft. The F-16 taxiing out is assigned to the 36th Fighter Squadron at Osan AB, Korea, and is deployed to Alaska for the exercise. Red Flag-Alaska is advanced aerial combat training held four to six times a year to train pilots from the US, NATO, and other allied countries.
